Jingle Jangle on Netflix is a big budget, brightly colored, fantasy musical we all needed. The costumes were my favorite. The sets were impressive and the dancing was unexpected and fabulous.
A toymaker and inventor has his journal and new toy creation stolen by his apprentice. Many years later, the apprentice is now the riches man in town and they inventor is a depressed pawn shop owner. His granddaughter shows up for Christmas and completes one of his unfinished inventions. The evil apprentice attempts to steal the adorable robot and an adventure ensues.
Location: A snowy town, in the past or the future.
Love interest: The post lady
Familiar Face: Great all star cast: Phylicia Rashad, Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, Hugh Bonneville, & Ricky Martin
Unlikely plot point: Another pay your debts or loose your store by Christmas storyline. Also, people fly for some reason.
Who is dead: Mrs. Jangles dies in the first act
Romantic ending: It’s not really a romance, but the ending is sweet and fantastical
